Another successful market day was held last Sunday at Paluma. The weather
was perfect and it appears that people are getting used to the escort
travel system as we had good numbers of people coming through the door.
We had a full house of stall holders and our very own Hidden Valley
Honky Tonker, aka Stefan, who provided live music from under our gazebo
on the lawn in the courtyard. The BBQ was busy all morning, cooking,
selling and serving 200 sausages, plus BBQ’d pineapple, onions, choice
of sauces and soft drinks. A special thanks to Jamie Oliver, who handled,
without glitch, EFT transactions totalling $365 for the day. The pantry
hamper raffle was won by Christine Martin from Bluewater, second prize,
donated by Helen Hulme, going to Charlie Allen.

As well as being a great fund-raiser for the Paluma & District Community
Association, raising over $1000 it was great to see the markets as a
great community event, bringing large numbers of residents together, all
doing their bit to make this event the success it is, from volunteering
to man the BBQ, man the PDCA run stalls, donate lots of wonderful cakes
and other baked items, donating sales profits to the association, run
their own stalls and just coming along on the morning and spending some
money at the various stalls, truly a great effort by everybody
contributing in their own way to make it all worthwhile.
