DESCRIPTION:The Paluma Ultra is a 52km ultramarathon trail run race\, that will challenge your physical and mental abilities as well as awaken your sense of adventure and indulge your inner child as you traverse a fun\, technical and diverse course. \nHaving spent countless amount of hours and days in the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics region of Paluma Range National Park it has instilled an immense appreciation for the beauty of this place. One of our other events\, The Paluma Village Trail Run has been around for over 10 years and we thought it is time to share even more parts of this special place with the avid trail runners. \nThe 50km Ultra Trail Run course takes you through pristine wet tropics rainforest\, past waterfalls and through refreshing creek crossings. It then descents into dry eucalypt forest and cattle country and wide open spaces before climbing back into the dense rainforest parts of Paluma. \nThis time of the year\, Paluma Range is a great escape from the heat in Townsville. Situated at almost 1000m\, the Paluma Range is cooler than the coastal region and it makes for great trail running conditions in October.

DESCRIPTION:Our next Paluma Games Night is on Saturday August 17th at the Community Hall starting at 6pm. \n\nThe evening will start with a sausage sizzle dinner ($3.00) at 6:00 pm with the bar also open for the purchase of drinks and Linda’s famous mulled wine. By 7:oo pm\, the teams of two will have been announced and the various games will commence. These will include darts\, indoor bowls\, ping pong\, and soccer pinball to name a few.\n\n\n\nPrevious years have proved a great success with lots of friendly participation mixed with bouts of enthusiastic competition. There are probably a few residents looking to topple the previous winners in some categories so the spirits will be high. Hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:The Mike Carney Toyota Paluma Push is one of North Queensland’s most iconic XC Mountain Bike races. It started in 2002 and is held on the third weekend of July each year. The event is an individual challenge as well as a great social ride. \nBook your camping spot at the Cricket Oval and join us for live music\, food truck fiesta\, bonfire and beers to celebrate all things Paluma Push and mountain biking in North Queensland.

SUMMARY:Working Bee at the Community Centre
DESCRIPTION:On the first Saturday of every month\, we invite volunteers to come along to the Community Centre where Wilfred Karnol will coordinate one or more activities aimed at maintaining and improving the Hall and surrounding gardens\, the local walking track\, or other community activity.  We meet at 2 pm at the Community Hall and finish at about 4 pm with a free beer or soft drink.

DESCRIPTION:Every Saturday from March till November we open up the Community Hall and set out a variety of displays and resources that document the rich history of the region\, including early settlement\, construction of the range road and the heroic activities of the miners and loggers who explored the wilderness and developed its earliest industries. \nCome along and have a cup of coffee or tea  and chat with our local history enthusiasts.
