The Day Begins
This series of photographs have been skimmed from my iPhone collection. Definitely not of professional quality but more a personal reflection of why this place continues to hold me in its thrall.

Crimson rosella
The crimson rosella has seven sub-species. At Paluma our sub-species is Platycercus elegant nigrescens, smaller and darker than the nominate species. Adult crimson rosellas form lifelong pairs and remain together year round. Outside the breeding season they may forage in small groups or noisy feeding parties on the ground. They do like it when we let our lawns go to seed.

Len Cook
The man and his rustic workspace in Lennox Crescent. To visit the gallery at the back of the block, give Len a ring on 0427 708 530 to check he's home. Len's practice encompasses domestic ware, ceramic sculpture inspired by the coral forms of the Great Barrier Reef, and his anagama-fired work.

Len Cook
Len haas pursued a lifelong passion for wood-fired kilns and pots that are glazed by natural ash deposits over extended firing in traditional Japanese anagama (cave) kilns. Tending the anagama kiln in the background during firings has been something of a community occasion over the years. He's very happy with the 2026 firing.
